New Camera (Advice, Suggestions, Opinions)

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 13, 2005, 1:11 PM
I'm looking for a new camera. I have a Canon PowerShot A85, which isn't horrible, but it's more a family style/introductory SLR digital camera.

I'm really looking for something with a more professional look and feel. I want something with plenty of control so I can really experiment shooting manual.

I'm considering a Canon EOS 300D, a Fuji FinePix S2 Pro or a Konica Minolta DYNAX 7D / MAXXUM 7D.

Storage

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 15, 2005, 9:11 PM
Had my gallery in storage for awhile. Still a little unsure about the Jark/Spyed thing. Sounds fishy to me.

But at the same time this whole "put your gallery in storage for a week in protest" movement doesn't seem to be going off with a bang.

Plus not everyone seems to be bothered by it.

So if I'm one of the few rebelling, then I'll feel silly.

And if it turns out I should've been rebelling then oh well, I'll feel silly, but so will everyone else.

1000

Yeah, so I'm 19 away from 1000. Kinda stoked.

I'm hoping I or someone browsing my page catches it, just for the sake of having a screenshot. So if you do, Alt + Print Screen (it's at the top-right of your keyboard) and let me know. I'll be very happy and I might do you a favour.

This includes sexual favours.*

*No it doesn't.

PS: Or does it?

69

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 15, 2005, 4:18 PM
I got 69 pageviews today and cracked 900 without a single one being counted in the recent visitors and no comments or favourites or watches to show for it?

And I didn't even upload anything...

Um... what did I do?

On a related note, I took pictures Wednesday. They're sexy. (Not THOSE kind... ask me about those ones later ;)) I kiiiiid! But no, seriously... it was raining. Then the sun tried to come out as it was setting. And where it was setting there was horizon, then clouds, then a break, then more clouds. So you've got dark trees, really dark rain clouds and then this intense sliver of blinding yellow light and then more dark rain clouds.

So I was going to get sushi with sis and I said "I gotta go back and get the camera, you don't mind?" Sis loves photography so she was cool. We headed home, grabbed the camera and drove up to the mountain for the best vantage point I could manage. Took about 50 some pictures, most from the same angle just with different aperature and shutter speed and some lighting effects. Some came out blurry cuz they were all sans tripod. The rest I managed to keep a steady hand.

Edited a few, but a lot came out dark in parts like the field in the foreground, and then really glarey where the sun was, which is too be expected when shooting straight into the sun, but I still haven't figured out how to get a good balance. :\

Holy Wow

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 4, 2005, 2:25 AM
So yesterday morning I posted two photos, my road trip pictures and thought nothing of them.

I went to bed (I'll elaborate in a minute) and woke up around 7 (PM) to find a tonne more comments and favourites than I'm used to.

I tried to respond to most of the comments which removes them from the message center when you do, so I can't count those, but as of now, total, I've had those two pictures added as favourites 15 times and I probably had the same in comments.

My page got 31 views yesterday and 22 already today... compared to the less than 5 or so I'm used to.

And all this for 2 pictures I had forgotten about for almost 2 months, found after coming home from the bar and edited while I was still somewhat drunk (hence being up and then going to bed at that hour of the morning).

So thanks to everyone who has and still might comment and/or add one of my pictures.

It means a lot. Really. This made my day.
